Tips for using Webquests in the classroom: 1. If completing in class, make sure you have access to enough computers. 2. When assigning for homework, make sure you give enough time so that students who do not have computers at home can make arrangements to use the computers at school or the library. 3. Give precise and detailed instructions on what you want the students to do. 4. Include pictures to enhance the student's learning experience. 5. Be very familiar with the websites the students will be using in order to stop off task behavior. 6. Use something to catch the student's attention at the beginning of the webquest. 7. Follow the basic five steps: introduction, task, process, evaluation, conclusion. 8. Post the webquest on the class blog or website for students who miss class or parents information. 9. To accommodate for students with special needs, allow students to do a smaller portion of the assignment or make an alternate quest with simpler tasks. 10. To accommodate for English language learners, provide alternate sites with simpler language or with primary language sources.
